I think the problem is that they feel Tennis is losing it's dignity, it's not about the greatest players anymore but the fashion on the court. It's not a baseline anymore but a runway.

I don't think they should dictate it, but a see-through top.. hmm too far.

I suppose I'm one of few who watch tennis for the actual game. I love Maria Sharapova and her attractiveness is partly why I watch her but I don't do it just because of how she looks, that's shallow as. She doesn't have to wear "out-there" outfits to get men to watch her, they just do.

It just draws negative attention to the game, i think that's all.

This is absurd. I've seen the outfit. Yes the skirt was short, but she was wearing regular shorts underneath, just like Dementieva. It's not like she was wearing thongs. And if that top is see through, then something is wrong with my eyes, because I couldn't see through it. I wish I could.

If the WTA actually goes ahead with this absurd plan, they will end up kicking every female player out. And oooh Margaret Court doesn't like it. Surely she doesn't want female players to dress the way she did when she was a player.

If MC played with modern rackets, she would realize that you need a bigger follow through in your shots. That little thing she was wearing would fly up over her head.

omg please this is just extremely ridiculous, i like wimbledon, but its traditions of all-white is rather dull, that is the only one tournament where players are always dressed in appropriate tennis attire. i say, let the players wear whatever they want, as long as they aren't playing naked. afterall when tennis fans buy tickets to watch matches, they are watching matches, not watching what the players are wearing.

I highly doubt that they will do much about this. Like who is to say that somebody's outfit is to "revealing." Obviously a man won't put this into effect.. Unless some girl comes out wearing one of those 100% see through, wrap things, I doubt anybody is going to get in trouble. And all the top 10 players are somewhat classy, this will never be a problem.

What's the point? If Cornet wants to play her tennis match in a certain outfit, why shouldn't she be allowed to? Because then her body would become more important than the sport? Bullshit. People tune in to a match or buy tickets to watch the tennis match, not to watch a player's outfit. Besides, if someone would go to a tennis match just for the lady's outside, I bet they would go watch Ivanovic. And just because former player Margaret Court makes a statement against certain outfits doesn't mean we should make a point of it. In my opinion this so called "strict dress code" is part of trying to create some kind of tradition like Wimbledon, but failing miserably.

I don't know why the WTA would ever do that, now not to sound to much like a pig, but seriously us guys are more willing to watch a sport that has sexy women, it is just who we are. By banning this type of thing chances are that there may be fewer fans who may actually watch it for that sort of thing. Although really, I think Cornet did it on purpose so that all of the line judges wouldn't be able to pay attention as easily to the lines allowing her to hit riskier shots. What is this "tennis attire" the clothes of all sports are constantly changing, decades ago people wore things for athletics we would never wear today and it is going to continue changing like that for better or for worse.

Some girls try to reveal a lot when it's not neccesary. What counts is what the person is inside, not the outside. I disagree with Wayne because anyone can wear what they want as long they are not naked. Fined because looking way too sexy. That's BS to me. It's like when some people say, "You are American. You have to speak english only." That's a stereotype. Guys want to see and have hot, sexy looking girls who are beautiful in the inside like me.
